Proficiency +1, Damage 2d6, Range 20/40, Weight 5lbs, Properties: backfire, brutal, high crit, and load 2 minor.

Backfire: On a roll of a natural “1,” the weapon backfires and the wielder gains concealment and is dazed until the end of the wielders next turn. After a backfire, the weapon suffers a -1 penalty to attack rolls until the next short or extended rest.

Brutal: A brutal weapon’s minimum damage is higher than that of a normal weapon. When rolling
the weapon’s damage, reroll any die that displays a value equal to or lower than the brutal value given for the weapon. Reroll the die until the value shown exceeds the weapon’s brutal value, and then use the new value.

Load 2 minor: This weapon requires two minor actions to reload. A move action may be substituted for one minor action.

Note: Characters may replace their normal choice of ranged weaponry with the firearms group. For example, they would not be proficient with the longbow or crossbow, but would be proficient with the blunderbuss. Rogues who replace their crossbow proficiency with firearms only gain proficiency with snaplock pistols not blunderbusses. Blunderbusses cannot mount a bayonet.
